FIELD GUIDE

Whether it’s your first time or tenth, there’s always something new to see and plenty of places to shop, eat, and drink. Here are some of our favorites we think you’ll enjoy. Please note that most places here in the high desert have seasonal operating hours so it’s best to check ahead so you can plan accordingly.

WHERE TO EAT + DRINK

RED DOG SALOON

in Pioneertown has great cocktails and tacos. We recommend the Lightning Margarita with mezcal and the quesadilla. Order at the counter and enjoy sitting outside in Pioneertown.

FRONTIER CAFE

to start your morning with the best coffee & sandwiches. Try the Avocado Tartine and BLT.

GIANT ROCK MEETING ROOM

for coffee in the mornings and pizzas/wine. Pick up your pizza and bring it home to enjoy during sunset. It’s a beautiful drive and close by.

Head to PAPPY + HARRIETT'S in Pioneertown for great BBQ and beers. It’s also a music venue where you can expect to hear a band jamming on their indoor or outdoor stange.

The JOSHUA TREE SALOON for great bar food and good vibes. Try the sweet potato fries.

LA COPINE for a GREAT lunch. Treat yourself, you won’t be sorry.

PIE FOR THE PEOPLE for great pizzas and salads for pick up.

WHERE TO STOCK UP

Stock up at DESIERTO ALTO for wine, booze, upscale snacks, cheese, and frozen Roberta’s pizzas.

WINE + ROCK SHOP for natural wine, gifts, and goodies.

JOSHUA TREE BOTTLE SHOP is right next door to The Dez Fine Foods, which has great coffee and gourmet food.

WHERE TO SHOP

PRISM BOUTIQUE

Yucca Valley, newly opened at Mojave Flea Trading Post.

THE STATION

in Joshua Tree for cute photo ops & souvenirs. It’s a must stop shop.

MERCADO JOSHUA TREE

is a great outdoor market with local artists and makers.

JOSHUA TREE ROCK SHOP has a crystal selection like you've never seen before & outdoor furniture.

Head to Hwy 62 in Yucca Valley and visit some of our favorite spots, ACME 5 for furniture and home decor, THE END vintage shop, PIONEER CROSSING ANTIQUES, HOOF + HORN, Desert Omen vintage, and Route 62 vintage.

THINGS TO DO

JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK

is a must. Our favorite easy walk (about a mile) is Barker Dam. Also, check out the Jumbo Rocks campground area.

Book a sound bath at the INTEGRATRON. It’s an enlightening experience like none other.

THE HISTORICAL PIONEERTOWN

is great for walking around while you’re waiting for your table at PAPPY + HARRIET'S. Grab a cocktail at RED DOG SALOON and check out the little shops and the Pioneertown Film Museum. Book a lane or two at the NEWLY RESTORED BOWLING ALLEY.

Catch a live outdoor concert at MON PETIT MOJAVE.

Check out the tiny WORLD FAMOUS CROCHET MUSEUM and the art exhibits that surround it in the heart of Joshua Tree.

Shop the JOSHUA TREE FARMER'S MARKET on Saturdays for fresh local produce.
